Owners manual?
« on: June 06, 2013, 10:42:50 PM »
My '09 was preowned and did not come with an Owners Manual. Many searches via Google have only supplied an older version. Does anyone here have a spare or a PDF version?

Found a free Service Manual for the 500 Ri as well as Parts List.

I've been looking for a service manual and found one and a parts list at:

http://www.timtaylor.net/Scooter/Manuals.htm

You have to scroll down.  There are two files for the Kymco -- Service and Parts.  The files are .rar files (compressed) and there is a link at the bottom of the page for a program that uncompresses them.

The owners manual is easier to find.

Yes, I have these already but was looking for an Owners Manual, not the Service Manual. I do have a copy of the older owners  manual for carb bikes but want one that covered the 09 specifically. Maybe I'll call Kymco USA, but they were no help on trying to get the color code, so my hopes are not high.

As a side note, there is a new company that makes service manuals in online web and Kindle formats. I have the one for my Xciting and it is very good. I got the Kindle version off Amazon and use it on my iPad. Images enlarge, procedures are easy to understand and it is searchable.

I have one, but in my local language (Spanish). Do you want a copy of it?

Thanks for the kind offer. I will try it but my Spanish ability is mostly limited to ordering beer and asking for the bathroom.

I had to do a lot of looking before I found an owners manual too. I finally found it and saved it on my desk top. I can't remember where I found it but it is a 3 in one owners manual as it included the 300, 500i, and 500i ABS. If you give me you email addy I can send a copy to you.

Hey, thanks gang -- very helpful. I have not been on the forum for a while and quite busy. I also picked up an old dual sport I am fixing up. Cheers, BJ
