info needed please

So I decided to purchase a scooter for pleasure just around my small town. it looks like kymco is a brand i should be looking at but the model list is a bit overwhelming.  i couldn't even find a comparison chart of the different models and reviews seemed to be a bit limited for each model. I was hoping someone could help a beginner get started and give me some ideas on what to look for. I would greatly appreciate any info
I think what im looking for is
at-least a 150cc
4 stroke so i can get anywhere and not have to mix my fuel.
i want something quiet
good take off to get into traffic
i would like to be pretty agile with cornering and such
I have 2 kids under the age of 12 that i may double on rare occasion and I weigh about 170.

speed: from what i can tell a 150 can top out around 60mph+ im more concerned with taking off and getting into traffic i think.
budget: i don't really have one couple of grand?? i dont know guess depends on what i find
location: im in western N.C not sure why you ask unless you are referring to the terrain. its pretty hilly i live in the mountains but im just going to buzz around town mostly

another item i think i would want is to be able to locate parts if needed. i have seen a lot of post about people not being able to locate parts for some brands. would be nice to know i could order parts online iof something breaks. I do have 1 kymco dealer about an hour away from me.

Well, when It comes to performance, I think most models are not far from each other... engine types are similar (GY6 variant) with most models... some are fuel injected, some are not. In choosing a model, I think you may consider what looks great on you...or what looks great with you on... 

1.  Kymco Like - retro design... if you like the Vespa, Stella, or Italian design, this is for you...

2.  Kymco People - another retro design...

2.  Kymco Super 8  -  sporty design... if you like a sport bike style, this is for you...

3.  Kymco Agility  -  sporty design but with smaller wheels compared to the Super 8

4.  Kymco Yager - bigger than the above

I chose the Like 200i for for the fuel injection, performance and price. It handles very well and very peppy at lower speeds.  Some people have complained about the seat, so make sure what ever scoot you choose fits you.  Spend some time checking out the models that interest you and do some online homework to check out the reviews.  I was looking into the People 300i and then the Super eight but settled on the Like.  The Super eight does not have fuel injection and I believe that is a disadvantage. The price of the People 300i and the idle vibration steered me to the Like which I am happy with (so far).  Also the Like is relatively easy to put on the center stand.  I would check that out on the models you are interested in too.  Have fun, there is a lot of info out there to help you make an informed decision.

If claynine preferred the fuel injected, I preferred the carburated Super 8 because its very simple and easy to tinker and maintain... Also, I prefer the sport bike lines of the Super 8... The Like is beautiful but not my type...    I also like the big tires of the Super 8...

Wow...That Lance PCH 125 is an Agility killer if you ask me! $1899.00 with polished rims, much better looking speedo layout & just better "looks" in general. Too bad the color Red isn't making over to the states. Correction: Chili Red with be available. Hell...I prefer the looks then my Kymco Super 8!! SYM makes one very nice scooter, even if it's @ their Chinese factory.

Sounds like a People 150 would fit your criteria well.  It's 4-stroke, quiet, has no problem getting out ahead of traffic and is relatively lightweight and agile.
