shipping a scooter

Has anyone here shipped a scooter? I am thinking of shipping my Grand Vista from Montana to Arizon this fall. If you have who did you use and were you happy with the results.

I my self would not trust it. I would if I could be with the scoot at all times.
I do know a few people that did ship there scoot. What they did was go to a place that sales scoots and get a box they come in. and used that. you ship it with the front tire off the scoot and the handle bars off. .to much work for me just to ship a scoot so you can go rideing.I guess if ya can find a bigger box and a ;ot of foam to pack around it it might be ok.  Good luck and have fun.

I've shhiped mine without a problem. Do a search to find a point-to-point motorcycle carrier.
Some shippers will just use a common carrier and the scoot could end up being unloaded/loaded a few times before it gets to you.

My real problem is after all was said and done to scooer was fine but it was almost 800.00 each way. Almost the prive of a small scooter.

Earlier this spring, I purchased a Super 8 from a Toronto dealer for a friend in Montreal. The Toronto dealer performed the necessary disassembly, crated it up, and shipped it to another dealer in Montreal, who uncrated and reassembled the bike. Since my friend paid the bill, I can't tell you what it cost, but he was thrilled with the cost of the whole deal. I've discovered over the years that, if a business has contract shipping arrangements, a given shipment is dramatically cheaper than an individual can get.

So, if you are on good terms with a local dealer, I'd ask them about it.
