Scooter Books Review
« on: June 28, 2013, 07:25:07 PM »
For scooter riders who can read...............
(and some really great pictures in here too, Vivo)

What are your favorite scooter books?

Please share your finds with us.
We can get them at our libraries, or Amazon, if we know about them. (if you miss your scooter too much while you're inside taking care of business, well then - Bob's Your Uncle - there's a scooter book right there by the towels!)

Here are a couple which I have found .
Listed in order of my favs down to : "OK, if it's free, I'll take it"

#1) HAYNES - THE SCOOTER BOOK   (maybe my favorite - good info and pretty pictures > Vivo~!)
#2) COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO MOTOR SCOOTERS (actually one of my best reads - good info)
#3) SCOOTERS -EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW (good info, great pictures)
#4) HAYNES TECHBOOK SCOOTERS ( has info on every scooter repair but the one you own)
#5) HOW TO REPAIR YOUR SCOOTER  (Newest Printing of all the books. Has 'em all but yours, or mine.)
#6) VESPA, AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY (just that, and all b/w pictures. Sorry Vivo)
#7) SCOOTERS ( lots of old pix of old scooters, domestic & others)
#8) THE SCOOTER BIBLE (well, no, not the Bible of anything - see above.)

Thanks Vivo, good pictures and lots of neat info (when I was in Jr. High School in Florida all the rich kids drove Lambrettas to school - and some even wrecked them after school in the parking lot while showing off for the girls (doing wheelies, etc.) My Dad had an old Cushman turtle-back that he carried about on his planes (US AirForce)....but I always envied the rich kids and their Lambrettas....which had a lot to do with me buying a Lambretta-looking KYMCO LIKE when I saw the price while visiting the motorcycle shop with my son. I had no idea you could get a retro looking scooter for 1/2 Vespa prices!
I do look at that top case on my LIKE - and think how much more like a Lambretta it would look if I took it off.....but heck, I carry all kinds of stuff in there!
Safe on in that storm, Vivo (I already searched it last night when you first mentioned it)
