You're right. That's a good read. I considered a cheap Chinese scoot myself. There is a shop that sells and services these about 10 miles from my house. I went in and talked with them about reliability, etc. when I said I was going to use it to commute to work and could not be late, they said I need to go up in quality to Genuine or Kymco.
If it was just for putting around town I probably would have bought one of theirs.
