Finally stopped raining so was up at o'dark thirty (again) gassing up at BP (pump w/card ! Cool, the place isn't even open for another 2 hours!) and heading off to the reservoir after a spin thru downtown on a tree-line blvd.

The reservoir/State Park  is 25MPH. Have to do 35mph to get there.

Inside that fullface helmet just before sunrise, watching the rabbits and looking out for deer - one has time to think.
I decided my happy speed is 35mph.
The LIKE 200i seems to like it, too.
I wouldn't know if it might like higher speeds - in 3 mos of ownership - once or twice -  had to race along at about 43mph to escape murderers behind me.

I thought when I bought this scooter that I'd be cruising around country roads in the area - maybe take a ride to a real scooter shop 48 miles away in Columbus, on back roads.

But these country roads are 50 - 55MPH 2 lanes - and Ohioans see these as minimum speeds allowed.
I have no desire to get out there doing WOT to stay off their bumpers.
The interstate ??- shoot no, the idiot governor just increased it to 70MPH. (He's a Republican - and everyone knows how Republicans feel about hippies riding around, sipping gas, on foreign-made scooters! So, "increase it to 7 0 mph!")

I don't know - this scoot's next owner may get a heck of a deal when I pass......a scooter that was driven at 35MPH for 20,000 miles, with 40 oil changes.

I used to love cruising around Germany, Luxembourg and eastern France at 30-40 mph just looking at the fields and rolling hills. You have a better feel for your surroundings at the slower speeds.

  I traded my 150 for a GTI300 for interstate commutes. I can cruise at 65 and still have plenty of zip to pass if I have to. My favorite though is the back farm roads at 35 - 40 watching the cows, horses and scenery with no traffic. My GTI300 gives me the best of both worlds.

  On a little trip to Manchester NH.  main highways & super slabs, to get there,.  smooth riding so far is about 110 kmph. thats 70 mph.   I try to keep rpm at 6,000 ,.   went for a ride this morning down to Salom and up the coast then back to manchester.   for lunch,.  I will be here for two more days  the wife is shopping for Xmas,. will it ever end?   she never looks in a scooter shop,. something wrong with that women.?

My happy speed is 45-50 mph. The scooter seems to fall into sync at that range.

My People 150 loves to cruise around 40 - 45 mph. Most of the roads I ride on are 35 mph, which is just enough to be able to see the sights and keep a nice cool breeze going at the same time. Love to see things at slower speeds...helps me slow down and enjoy life more!

I enjoy freeway speeds with my scoot. 65-70 on my s250 people. Am going from wi. to s.dakota wed. on it. It will be wot most of the time. Am a little concerned about that. But if these are made as good as it seems to be, it may not be a problem. Any comment on this? I'm not concerned about the freeway. What people need to understand is you're going with the traffic. Unlike a 2 lane highway. Thanks

Welcome to Germany with its (partially) unlimited Autobahn. The VV (Bugatti) Veyron Sport (manufactured near the border in France, you can see them sometimes on German Autobahn) needs 14.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 300kph and was clocked with a top speed of 431.0 kph (267.8 mph).
Watch your mirrors and look over your shoulder!

My happy speed depends on the vehicle, street/traffic and weather.
At good conditions on a small country road with my Yager GT 125 ca. 71kph (44mph at 7000 rpm, best torque), with my Xciting 500 72-93kph (-58mph, at 5-6000rpm). Engine runs economical with potential for more throttle, windshield provides enough protection, no buffeting/noise at the helmet.

My happy speed is between 40 and 50, in general.  Just fast enough to enjoy the speed and my scoot is very peppy in that range, with quick acceleration up to about 60.

I enjoy riding at about 35-40 mpg when I can.  I get a little perturbed when I'm just riding along at my own pace and someone comes flying up behind me, lol.  Then I have to speed up.

It really depends on the bike I'm riding.  On my Super 8, 35-50 is good,  My Sport City 250, a little faster.  My old FJ1100 was comfortable anywhere from 70-120 although I sometimes went much faster than that. Slow was boring on that bike.

The speed limit if under 55 MPH is what I prefer.  If the speed limit is 55 MPH, then I prefer to do 50 if no one is behind me but I will do 55 if there is other traffic.
