Givi Airstar Windscreen

Installed the tall one today.  As can be seen by the pictures, it has mirror cut-outs that allow the bars to turn fully lock to lock, without modification.

The screen is pretty tall, and it comes quite close to the rider as it follows the rakish angle of the fairing.  I'm 6'2" so can see over the top when sitting up straight (like we were taught in fifth grade  ) so will leave as-is for the time being.

I cut my teeth riding a Honda Custom back in the mid eighties with a full windscreen, and always had bikes with them, so it is a relief to finally have some protection from the wind and bugs.  This scooter is now a much more pleasant ride.

I know some of you have installed an (older?) version of the tall Givi and had trouble with the mirrors hitting;  some have added extensions onto the mirrors to solve the problem and some have not...  I'm not knocking anyone's setup but the bike is designed to have the ability to fully turn the bars lock to lock.

Short story but when I was much younger I used to amuse myself by dragging pegs at every opportunity.  One day on my usual route to work I hit a sweeping left hander at 60 mph and half way through the curve hit running water.  Some dork was flushing a fire hydrant (I hope not on purpose) and had turned the road into a river.  The bike first slid to the right, bars full lock to the right, then to the left, bars full lock to the left, then back to the right where it came to a full stop, upright, at the side of the road, my helmet on sideways.

I tell that story to say this:  that bike rode it out on it's own, all I did was hang on.  Be careful not to handicap yours.

I put a Givi on my Like 200i a week or so ago.  I thought it may be too high but I am spoiled.  It cuts the wind and the bugs and is much quieter.  I can even hear the blinkers.  It also protects the passenger so we can talk freely, very easily. She likes it even more as it doesn't mess up her hair.  Everything is a plus.

just put my 293st on my 2010 x250 wow its very nice behind it.   I painted the bottom half black on the back side and looks very nice didn't like how big and clear it was, just sprayed the back side at the mirror cutouts down to the bottom with vht nighshades . if I can figure out picks I will get some up for tomorrow
