New to Kymco just got 2013 AG50

     Hello guys, I've been reading through the forum and enjoying it. I picked up a 2013 Agility 50 two days ago. I looked at the cdi box and it does not appear to have been modified. They removed the scooter from the crate and assembled whatever is removed for shipping while I waited in the showroom, less than 45 minutes. I've been going easy on it, and following the break in procedure, but I have noticed upon testing the speed, it will go at least 42 mph by the speedometer ( maybe faster but I backed off at 42 mph). I'm sure they didnt pull the carb for a rejet, and the pilot screw is sealed with the brass plug. There are a few wrench marks on the cvt cover, but those may have been there from factory ( and their mechanic is not the greatest, I know from previous purchases of other motorcycles there). Could my speedometer be way off, or is Kymco shipping any unrestricted Agility 50's? Reading through the forum, many report 42-44 mph after cdi cut, jet, and smooth boss in variator but mine sure appears to be bone stock from china. Just curious, I've got nearly 150 Km on it in two days and it's a blast and that coming from a guy used to riding a 650cc Suzuki.  ;D

i guess its possible the scoot came without restrictions but its so easy to do. Someone with experience can have a new boss on the scoot in 5 min. A jet can be swapped in a few minutes easily. they definitely could have done it for you and you would not know.

maybe check under the seat, my scoot had a plastic bag with old variator boss and jet in the tool kit
Agility 50 w/72cc BBK, A9 cam, stock airbox and exhaust (both drilled out), remove air tube restriction, stock head, stock carb, 105 main jet, CDI cut, smooth variator boss, stock variator w/5g rollers

   Just went to the dealer and asked them about it. They say it's box stock, and they've been seeing 30-40 out of the last few, mine is built in March of this year according to the data plate. Though I suspect the speedometer is reading generously, when I do an indicated 40 mph in areas that traffic normally moves 33-36 mph I stay ahead and pull away a little bit.

If you can get 42 or better out of the scoot I would leave it be. And just injoy it.

   Almost 300 km now. I changed the engine and final drive oil and checked the valve clearance at 133 km ( a bit early but I like knowing it has good oils, and that it is oiling topside as I had a suzuki eat the cam journals). I pulled the CVT cover to have a look today, and it's nice and clean, no oil leaks, no belt debris, and the wear patterns look good on the pulleys. There is a smooth variator boss already in it. I'm still unclear about if Kymco is restricting the cdi on the later models. I have reached an indicated 45 mph on flat road with no wind (I'm guessing around 39-40 actual). It doesnt sound or feel like I'm hitting the rev limiter if there is one but the stock exhaust may be masking it. I'm very satisfied thus far with the speed and fuel economy given it is only a 50. I'm thinking about some kind of amber strobe to put on the back that I can activate via switch when people are following like three feet behind me, and a led tail bulb that strobes on brake activation too. Though I have been riding motorcycles for quite awhile, the inability of the AG50 to zip away from dangerous cagers makes for a different riding experience. I mounted a milk crate onto the rear rack, and the underseat storage come in handy too, though my HJC full face helmet doesnt quite fit in it. Haveing fun running all over the place on pocket change, and kinda have my eye on a agility 125 or zuma 125 as the next toy.

I have a 2013 and I cut the Cdi box little green wire it was restricted

  I have since cut the cdi, mine had a red wire.
