MPG
« on: August 01, 2013, 07:51:31 PM »
I,ve got a 2013 Downtown 300 and getting 75 mpg.  I,m thinking about getting a new Exciting 500 due to the fact I,m having a hard time with the seat on the DT 300. It is extremely uncomfortable and very hard on my lower extremidites.  What would be the average mpg on the Exciting 500 vs the DT 300. The Exciting 500 is a little larger bike and the seat is more comfortable

Click on my fuelly badge and look at mileage.

The gas mileage is not as good as the DT.  It is a much more comfortable bike.  I have ridden the DT 300 and it is a great machine. I just don't fit on it.  That seat and the geometry for my legs does not work.  I have a Xciting 500 ri 2009.  It is more comfortable and has much longer legs, and  you need much longer legs to ride it and much stronger legs to get it on the center stand.

Wheew!  The Xciting 500 is Bad Ass. Your gonna spend a little more on fuel. It is ok!
I wish I could ride more and drive less!

If that 75MPG is highway, your going to lose about 25/30 MPG. I get low to mid 50's on my 2007 carb model. Many fuel injected riders report a little less than mine? :-*

If I stay on the highway and drive "spiritedly" I get @ 47mpg.  If I cruise the back roads I get 55-60mpg.

I seem to be getting about an even 50 MPG on mine.  Not really bitching about it.

I am averaging 51 mpg on the last 49 fill ups. We are at the end of High ethanol season in Arizona.  Our ethanol content can be up to 14% of total volume.  Awesome regulation!  I am buying premium fuel and getting at least 86% of the gasoline by volume and between 7 and 14 % of ethanol and distillates.  Knocks during summer and smells like corn!

20 percent ethanol is genius! Burn out every O2 sensor in the fleet.
