Hi again, sorry for all the posts!  We don't have a garage at our house and I'm a bit worried about security.  I have a Kryptonite disc lock, but other than that, the scoot is just parked in my driveway.  We have a fenced in backyard that opens onto our driveway and I could potentially park the scoot in the back yard and lock the gate.  However, I imagine I'd need to stabilize the ground (with pavers or something).

Does anyone have a similar situation?  What do you do?

Myself, I live in a garden home / townhouse with a communal parking lot which I do not use.  Every night I wheel my girl to the backyard.  We have ground level patio stones so its nice and stable.

The week before I bought the bike I installed a 4 camera surveillance system.  They are infrared with amazing night vision. They also have a motion sensor alarm that wakes me up once in a while when an animal scurries around back there (also a spider once that was building a web near the lens.)

If you've ever seen infrared cameras at night you know how intimidating they can look.  Every inch of my property is covered and the cameras cover each other as well and have a tamper alarm anyway.

Needless to say I have not had any issues so far, aside from the neighborhood beasts and bugs!

If you live in a single detached I bet the backyard with a good lock is enough....if you live in the states you could also put up a big warning sign about tresspassers being shot ...

I would definitely park it out back, out of sight, out of mind. I used a 1x1 piece of plywood to park my scoot on when I lived at a town home. That and does your kryptonite lock have an alarm? I use a xena disk lock alarm and love it.

My lock doesn't have an alarm.  I'm thinking I'll park it in back, I just have to figure out a solution for the uneven ground.  I thought about laying pavers, but the spot I'm looking at is right against our house, and I don't fancy digging next to the foundation to put down the gravel and sand.  Perhaps a mini patio will work.  I'll let you know what I figure out!

There are some pretty good books on scooters - probably in your library.
One tip they give for scotterists is to put a cover on the scoot - nothing is foolproof but this has proven to be one way to discourage thefts of scooters. You can cable lock the cover - additionally - don't buy one that says VESPA - they'll steal whatever is under there before the engine is cold!

If you have a backyard you could always go to the hardware store and buy a cheap storage shed. That way you scooter is out of site but also out of the elements. It will keel your scooter looking nicer longer. Just a thought.

If I couldn't do that then I would roll it inside. Bikers have done it for years.
