To Small for this Ride

my Neighbor is 6'0 315 he wants a DT 300 im trying to talk him out of it.should i leave him be and let him go with it will he be able to ride it as big as he is

I am 6' 2.5" over 200lbs. I did a 7,000KM trip last year on mine with no problems as far as fit went. Did the return half of the trip in 3.5 days.

okay so what is the top good cruising speed.if traffic is running 70mph can you keep up or enough to get down the road

  In our town, traffic moves at 70---75  miles per hour, keeping up,  no problem, I dont think he will ride at that speed all the time,. and the Wt. thing, as long as he does not go over 411 lb. hes. OK.  riding in the rocky mountains was a blast last year, and my Wt. is about 225 lbs. dressed for the road,.  and I carry about 25 lbs. of tools when I travel,.

i think his biggest thing is riding into jacksonville florida or on a 300 mile ride with some of his friends that like to go cruising on sundays they avg i think don't quote me he said about 65-72 mph .he use to own a chineeeese scooter a linhai 300 i did tell him his linhai 300 displacement was 275 i think the 300 i is 298.i could be wrong that alone would make a difference

   it is more than ccs.  new tecnology high compression engine, makes a big difference,. fuel injection,  its just like a eco. engine in cars,. and it only weighs 411 lbs. ready for the road,.  364 lbs. dry,    + water, fuel, & oil,     He may want  to redo the seat and move the butt stop back to suit his size, for comfort,.

My wife (140lbs) and I (185lbs) rode 2-up with gear (25lbs) on her Gilera Runner 180 from Saint Tropez to Nice to Turin to Chamonix, France and up to Geneva Switzerland with no issues. I think that 300 will pull him around just fine.

The consensus on height and the DT300i seems to hinge around your inseam. The dividing line for most folks seems to be whether your inseam is 30" or less (I'm 5'11" and mine is 30"). I doubt his weight will present any issues for the DT300i (I've ridden 2-up with two fluffy people, myself being one, and getting up to 70mph seemed to be almost as quick as when I'm riding by myself, I'm around 240). Doing Interstate speeds (70-75MPH) shouldn't be any problem for the bike. The DT300i is pretty light for its' power though, so when you get it up there at 75+, you really feel wind gusts and such, IMO (to me, at over 75mph, it almost feels like it "floats" and the sensation makes me nervous).
