Gear whine?

My S8 has a noticeable gear whine from 20-32 mph is this normal?  I changed the gear oil small amount in there.... and it was dark.  Added 50cc over spec when I refilled no change still makes noise. I rode a people 150 and did not here this.

Is your Super 8 new?

If so, give it some time for your scooter to break-in and the whine should minimize if not go away.

Btw, it's not advisable to overfill the gear oil.  If there's too much gear oil in the gearbox, the oil will shoot out of the breather tube and into the airbox which could soak your air filter in gear oil.  Not good.

It has 1100 miles, I agree about over filling the diff.  im an old farmer and .18 liter of oil seems crazy!!  NORMAL rear gears you fill an inch or so below or until it flows out the fill hole.  This one would probably hold a quart if you did that.  In any case im leaving the extra 50cc in there.
