tire pressure
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:23:30 AM »
According to Kymco People 250 maintenance manual (page 5)
Tire pressure              Front 1.75 = 24.89 LB/sq inch
(kgf/cm²)                  Rear 2.0    = 28.45 LB/sq inch

Does it make sense?
How do you inflate your vehicle?

I Weight 205lb and inflate front to 32 lb and rear to 36.

I put 28 psi in both. Feeling a lot better than previously 32 psi. I am 165 lbs.

Keep in mind that the markings on the tires, themselves, are maximum inflation values. The tires can be used with a variety of vehicles, and the weights of the vehicles and their applications differ.

I keep mine inflated to the approximate values listed in the Kymco literature. Overinflation = very rough ride, feeling every defect in the road. Underinflation = poor-to-dangerous handling, and poor tire longevity.

I'm with JP except that everything he says about under inflation is also true for over inflation.
