exactly, Vivo. pretty sure you reside and ride outside the U.S so you may have the updated, upgraded Agility models as well. now, idk if those are produced in China or elsewhere but its still the SAME frame, engine, components, etc as the old model. and its a scooter, not a darn car. so do what you have to do at the chinese plant to slap new panels on the Agility and be done with it!

now if the AgilityRS and the one you posted above....which looks awesome....are indeed already produced in China, there is NO excuse! i mean if you have an updated model ready to go for YEARS already and all you can do is change the paint and keep selling the older model in the U.S. well, its obvious some low cost scooters have caught up!

as said, put the Lance PCH on the floor next to the 2014 Agility and imo the Lance is the more tasteful choice. and it looks it. and its obviously going right at the Agility.

We only have one Agility variant in our country and it's the 125cc... here's a pic... It's cheap at around $1,400.00 (taxes, registration, helmet, jacket included) so it might be Chinese....

Some would just peel off those graphics and have custom computer-cut stickers placed....

Mr. Kymco: You're correct! Kymco needs to wake-up & produce a better looking entry-level scooter. The problem? Here is the USA, we are such a small market for them overall. We simply don't really matter as a whole. That's why we get the "ugly-duckling" Agility still. BTW that RS Agility is pretty sweet looking! The Chinese are making much, much better scooters now. Take a peek @ this Bintelli Havoc 150 with dual disc brakes & is made by Znen (the best Chinese manufacturer of scooters) BTW....This can be had for around $1600.00

The Havoc is a great "knock-off" of the European Yamaha Zuma 125. I rode one down in Florida & I'll admit I was impressed overall. The paint & plastics were outstanding & I loved the way she cruised as well.

Just for reference . . the Havoc has the somewhat oddball BN engine, which uses Type-2 parts.

It's great to have choices in the 125-150 class. For too long in those displacements the china scoots had a hands down "bang for the buck" factor. Cheap and smi-disposable.

On the other end you had the Piagio group offerings and Japan on the higher priced side. Now with the emergence of companies like SYM/ Lance along with mainstay kymco affordable alternatives have come to be.

Hope it lasts

Tortoise: I'm well aware of the Chinese BN157QMJ engine. It's not the "Mainstream" 150cc engine, but solid just the same. Parts are everywhere for this engine. I really like Bintelli as they are not a fly-by-night importer. They are trying to go about creating a "real" dealer network. I was about an 1/2" away from buying the Havoc 150 over the Kymco Super 8 that I leave @ my parents home in Florida. $1600.00 delivered to my parents home (Havoc), then I paid $2200.00 for the S8.

AMAC1680: It's only going to get better for us as times goes on. Kymco is asleep @ the switch if you ask me. The S8 @ $2499.00 is way, way overpriced!

I've got a Cali 125 also.  Same as the PCH with a different exterior.  It's an early 2012 with 3200 miles on it.  No problems at all.  The SYM ceramic coated engine is a smooth as any 150 I've ridden with.
My wife got a Havana Classic 125, the slightly more retro version of the Cali. She loves it, and it has been rock solid. Keeps up with my P150 very well, which is great because we love riding our scoots together. The wife is happy, and I'm happy with a happy wife!

i have not kept pace with what Znen and the few other major chinese makers are doing but Znen is really the only one i trust further then my nose. and quality is so hit and miss. the variances even between models coming off the same assembly line can be wide. it shows business grit that distributors like bintelli are willing to import and warranty the scooters as new, quality scooters sold at dealers. but can companies like Znen deliver adequate product of reasonable quality and do it consistently? i know BMS is still afloat and they seem successful selling Znen. so far as that goes.

it is nice to have some certainty in the value segment scooter market. i see Lance as leading the way atm. its a small but solid line-up of just a few scooter models but they are desirable at the price point. again, a $2000 50cc from the "big boys" or a 125cc and coming 150cc from Lance / SYM with warranty and no "big box dealer" mark up? if you need the speed or even want it its a no brainer.

and size does matter. these are good sized scooters, 12in wheels, decently made and constructed. i only hope Kymco answers

Cali Classic, Havana, and now the PCH. seems buyers are starting to think "why not?" and owners (and owners wives lol) are reporting high satisfaction, it would seem

c'mon, KYMCO!!

no one there reads this forum, though. if they did they may have run that fugly 2014 Agility paint by us a bit  :o

The PCH is FI? If it is, they seem to hide that fact rather than brag about it. It's a nice looking scoot! Drum brakes in the rear is a minus though. I'm surprised they don't have a larger displacement scooter. I went to their website looking for something around 300cc.

I'm sorry. I wasn't implying that the Lance PCH 125 was FI. Just that I think Kymco needs another sub $3000 scooter (that isn't retro i.e. Like 200i) Wouldn't it be great if they made a FI that was semi-sporty looking? The Compagno 110i doesn't cut it @ $2999.00, plus it's still retro. This model will be gone from the US shores with a year or two @ best. The Piaggio Fly 150 blows it away @ $2899.00 My wife just broke 600 miles this week. When she gets to 1200, I'll put some Amsoil Synthetic 10W-40W in. I already changed the gear oil to Amsoil a few days ago.

No question 3 grand for the Compagno is out of hand.

Today I sold my S200 and bought a 2013 SYM RV200 for 3600.00 out the door. It was sitting on the floor for a while and with the 2014 coming in they were willing to deal. Just 600.00 more than the Compagno.

This is a damn fine scoot for that money. Kymco needs to watch what's coming from behind.

Like I said, the competition is not sleeping...  The biggest move of SYM here is the lowering of scoot prices and introduction of more maxi scoots.... With all the competition around, I am quite confused and wondering why Kymco doesnt have any marketing campaign of their products... Kymco has good products.. some are even cheaper than some Chinese crap...  all they need to do is advertise...  Lots of people don't know anything about scoots and just get what other people get and end up getting the cheapest honda or a chinese clone... Is Kymco busy with other things..? BMW perhaps?

Don't get me wrong that S200 was a great scoot and it served me well. Problem was when I wanted something just a bit bigger the Kymcos were just way to much more money in comparison.

Another serious competitor:  Genuine refurbished, pre-owned, Suzukis, Yamahas, etc. maxi scoots from Japan... they enter out country by the container vans...
