Agility 50 / Re: Slider Weight question

But I do not need to modify anything? Just buy sliders and put them instead of roller weights?

I had to use a reference online for which way they sat in the variator, I used this: http://www.scootdawg.com/downloads/DrPulleyVariator.pdf

once you see how they sit inside it all makes sense as to the common sense of the design. . .

the engine is stock, but has now been rebuilt after an oil pump gear failure. Also: new gaster crankcase, oil seal, cylinder head gasket, gasket cam chain adjuster, crankshaft, piston, ring piston set, piston pin clips, gasket r. cover, oil seal, 1 gear, and oil pump driver.
whew!  (All covered under warranty, thanks Kiser Motorcycles!)
Runs pretty good now.

As I drove it more yesterday, it seemed like it got a little snappier up some hills. I hit 50 mph pretty easily on a few hills going down, put didn't want to push it too hard yet. I really didn't feel like pushing a broken down scooter for miles again. It has had a little trouble starting a few times since i got it back, so I rode it until it was out of gas and refilled with Ethanol Free gas... to be continued

thanks for the replies!

Agility 50 / Slider Weight question
« on: March 03, 2010, 11:17:10 PM »
Ok, so I got 5.5 gram Dr. Pulley slider weights and put them in today and went for a ride. Only noticed a slight difference in take off. Acceleration was a little better, but not noticably $40 better after purchase and shipping. Is there some tuning involved that can make a difference?

thnx

Out of curiosity, where is the best place to get the Dr. Pulley slider weights from? I'm thinking about ordering them, would like to know that they will actually show up in the mail. ;)

Agility 50 / Re: Stretched Drive Belt :UPDATE:
« on: February 20, 2010, 07:43:07 AM »
The problem was actually a nylon gear for the oil pump had shredded, I just got it back from the shop. Engine rebuilt, covered by warranty.
They had to really rip into this thing to figure out what happened. . . There was another one at the shop that had the same problem, also a 2009 model. . .
hope this info ends up helping someone with a similar problem, if it happens to anyone else. I was without my scooter for 5 months!!!!!

I can't see any obvious damage to anything, it's pretty weird. i will look at it more tonight when i get back from work...
Is there a tensioner somewhere in there?

Agility 50 / Stretched Drive Belt
« on: September 10, 2009, 03:42:22 AM »
This last weekend after taking a look at my roller weights, I apparently didn't tighten the 17mm nut tight enough, it fell off during a ride with an amazingly loud scary screaming sound while going up a hill! I pushed it home and cracked it open. I noticed the drive belt was looser. Now today the scooter broke down, luckily I was close to home. I cracked it open and the belt has no tension at all. did I totally ruin the belt?? i didn't know they could stretch like that... maybe something else is wrong?
any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

thnx

this might seem like a dumb question, but how do you tell which are the leading slots??

thanks

i think that's about it, just take a deep breath before you start cutting and all the warning i had was to not cut too deep.

this is the page which showed me how to do mine and a friends successfully.

http://www.scootertherapy.com/cdiboxcutpage.html

i guess the main thing is to not cut too deep. I used a fine toothed hacksaw blade and cut slow. check often to see if you've hit the wire yet, it's very small.
I then dipped that small section in Plastidip (liquid rubber that hardens). You can barely tell i did anything to it!

good luck

Agility 50 / Re: More power to go up a hill?!?
« on: August 23, 2009, 02:05:18 AM »
thanks for people's input first off. Simply replacing my roller weights in the variator (which had massive flat spots on them), got me what i needed for getting up the hills better. see this thread for more details...http://kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=1052.0

thanks,
